Who we are...

Jackie MacDonald has been working with glass for over 20 years.  Her husband, Stephen Coote, assists with the work and makes the stainless steel frames on which the glass is mounted.  They live in a semi-rural area to the north of Nelson City. Jackie also paints and draws, and Stephen has written a couple of books on primitive technology.

The materials we use...

The vibrant content of the work is mostly dichroic glass which is supplied by Coatings by Sandberg in the United States.  The main parts of our frames are made from grade 304 stainless steel.  Our adhesives are water resistant.

Where you can see our work...

We display our work at Arty Nelson Gallery, 126 Trafalgar Street, Nelson.  This gallery is run by a group of local artists.  The gallery does not have a landline phone, but most of the artists carry mobile phones.  Here is a link to the Arty Nelson Website: http://www.artynelson.co.nz

Buying and shipping our work...

We can work with customers to ship certain items within NZ and overseas. We accept payment by direct bank credit or PayPal.  Our smaller pieces are relatively robust and easy to pack for shipping.  Larger pieces require special packing, and this results in high shipping costs.  We can use toughened glass for larger custom work if shipping is necessary.  We like to use our local Pack & Send courier specialists who can guarantee the shipment if they pack the goods.  We also send with NZ Post… who state that the goods have to be packed to survive a 1.2 metre fall, which is a tough condition when shipping a large glass object.  If you would like to learn more about a specific piece of work that you may have seen on this site or our Facebook page, feel free to email us at jackiemacnz@gmail.com
